Upstate One of the Fastest Growing Regions in the Nation

            The SC Employment Security Commission reports that more than 240 international companies plus the booming I-85 corridor make the Upstate one of the fastest growing regions in the nation.  The Upstate boasts the highest level of foreign capital investment per capita in the country.

            A diverse range of industries is represented in the Upstate including advanced materials, automotive, life sciences, distribution and logistics, and plastics.  The area is a leader in global manufacturing with companies like Michelin North America and BMW, and the possibility of a new VW manufacturing plant.  The region’s auto industry has created an estimated 3,300 jobs within the past three years.  Two of Fortune Magazines fastest growing companies in the U.S. are headquartered in the Upstate:  Extended Stay America of Spartanburg and ScanSource of Greenville.

            In addition, the Upstate’s college graduates represent one of the highest concentrations of MBAs in the nation which adds to the reason why the Upstate is a great place to work and live.
