Upstate Visual Arts celebrates Local Artists and their work
Upstate Visual Arts, Inc. (UVA) is a non-profit organization located in Greenville, SC whose mission is to enhance the quality of life within Upstate South Carolina by elevating the stature of visual art and educating the public to its significance. UVA believes that celebrating local artists and their work is one of the most important ways we can contribute to our communities.
Since 1987 Upstate Visual Arts has produced many large and small exhibitions that which help local artists while exposing the public to fine art. Some of UVA’s exhibitions & educational programs throughout the year are:
*Art In The Park
UVA’s largest event that takes place in Downtown Greenville. Event includes a juried art exhibition, a plein air competition, live art demonstrations, and over80 local and regional artists who set up booths along Main Street.
*Arts Education
The UVA School of Art hosts “Artists’ Hours” in which guest speakers’ dialogue with artists and art-lovers.
*Other Programs
UVA is planning its second “Trading Faces” photography exchange between Greenville and two of its sister cities, Bergamo, Italy and Tianjin, China. The exchange is open to all Greenville area photographers, and culminates in a joint show Bergamo and Tienjin photographers.
